FARDC’S GENERAL MOUSTAPHA JONAS MUKIZA KAYOYO HAS DIED.

Today, Wednesday evening, 22nd July 20, General Moustapha Jonas Mukiza Kayoyo died after along illness. In March of this year, 2020; it is when General Moustapha Jonas Mukiza Kayoyo asked DR Congo’s accidental president to retire him from the army due to illness.

In a meeting arranged by now incarcerated Vital Kamerhe, who was then a trusted chief of staff in the president’s office. Gen Moustapha Jonas Mukiza Kayoyo asked accidental president Felix Tshisekedi to retire him so that he may concentrate on his health and family. And president Felix Tshisekedi granted him his wish and a guarantee to medical support.

By the time of his retirement due to medical condition, Gen Mustapha Jonas Mukiza Kayoyo was the commander of Second Military Zone, provinces of Kasais region (Kasai Occidental, Kasai central and Kasai oriental) and Katanga region.

Gen Moustapha Jonas Mukiza Kayoyo was born on the 30th July 1968, in Nganji, Fizi, South Kivu – DR Congo. Next Thursday, he would have been 52 years old.

Gen Moustapha Jonas Mukiza Kayoyo was a member of Laurent-Désiré Kabila’s Alliance of Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Congo-Zaire (AFDL or ADFLC) that came to power in 1996.

Moustapha Jonas Mukiza Kayoyo became the commander of the 3rd/S3 Battalion, 10th Brigade, 1st Military region which was later changed to 11th Military Region (Bandundu Province), commander of Katona military base in Bas-Congo and finally, commander of Second Military Zone – provinces of Kasais region (Kasai Occidental, Kasai central and Kasai oriental) and Katanga region.

In his military career, he served far from the conflict zone of Eastern DR Congo.

RIP General Moustapha Jonas Mukiza Kayoyo.
