Rodrigo Duterte, president of the Philippines, said in a speech that anyone can shoot non-lethal bullets at officials who commit acts of corruption in the country.
If he or she has a gun, he/she can shoot them, but not kill them.
In the same vein, he indicated that people who assault corrupt officials will not be sent to prison and will only be accused of causing injuries: “they will only be serious physical injuries and will be released on parole,” he said.
Duterte called on the population to denounce any act of corruption: “if those corrupt officials ask for a bribe, slap them,” he added.
