General Paul Kagame loves the good life. But the Coronavirus is threatening the status quo – as of March 28, 2020, there were 60 Covid19 cases in Rwanda. Coronavirus is drastically damaging Kagame’s kingly lifestyle in at least four ways:

1) Kagame drinks Voss Water imported from Norway. This supply is now disrupted with the suspension of international flights in and out of Rwanda.

2) Kagame attends at least 4 international conferences outside Rwanda every month. With total lockdown in effect in Western capitals, Kagame has nowhere to go. His Gulfstream jet is effectively grounded.

3) Kagame cannot punish neighbouring states by closing borders. The situation is reversed. Uganda, DR Congo and Burundi are not allowing Rwandans in.

4) Kagame has nobody to blame for his own failures anymore because he does not convene cabinet meetings for fear of catching Covid19.
