Lieutenant Rutabayiro Eric was an operative in Rwanda Defence Force’s J2, which is the Directorate of Military Intelligence, now rebranded as Defence Intelligence. According to Lieutenant Rutabayiro Eric, in 2019, he was deployed in Burundi by treacherous assassin Gen James Kabarebe and assassin Brig Gen Dan Munyuza, for Intelligence operations.
When he arrived in Bujumbura, Lieutenant Rutabayiro Eric decided to hand himself to the authority. According to the video below, Lieutenant Rutabayiro Eric notes, “I was tired and fed up of always spying, reasons I personally handed myself to the authority.
Lieutenant Rutabayiro Eric has applied for asylum in Burundi, and his asking the authority to follow laws set for people like him, or Burundi relocates him to another country in case they don’t grant him asylum status, but not be sent back to Rwanda.
We all know what would happen to Lieutenant Rutabayiro Eric if his sent back to Rwanda. He would definitely be executed by his former employer – Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI).
In this situation we can all predict the reaction from Kigali. It will be total deniability, they will either say that Lieutenant Eric Rutabayiro fled from justice, or an out right denial referring him as an imposter as they did to those Rwanda Defence Force soldiers that Burundi authority showed to journalists in 2015 after being arrested in Bujumbura.
