On June 17, 2024, Ange Kagame orchestrated a calculated public relations interview for her father, Paul Kagame, on Rwanda Broadcasting Agency. In this carefully staged event, Kagame’s niece, Martina Abera, posed prepared questions. Abera is the daughter of Ignatius Kabagambe, a notorious state agent with a ruthless reputation and a distant cousin to Paul Kagame.
The interview presented a platform for Kagame to reinforce his self-image. Throughout the session, he repeatedly referred to himself as Rwanda, reflecting his belief that his leadership is synonymous with the nation’s identity and existence. This portrayal underscores his narcissistic view that the country’s fate is inextricably linked to his continued rule.
Kagame’s narrative in the interview serves to perpetuate his personal association with Rwanda’s stability and progress, overshadowing the broader context of his regime’s human rights atrocities actions and the country’s complex realities caused by his satanic regime. The orchestrated nature of the interview, featuring a family member as the interviewer, highlights the lengths to which his inner circle goes to manage his public image and maintain his authority.
