“South Africa wants the DRC to find peace for its development,” says Special Envoy of South African President.

Africa is “determined to contribute effectively to the return of peace in eastern DRC”, declared Monday January 22 in Kinshasa, the special envoy of the South African President for the Great Lakes region, Jeff Radebe.

This was following his meeting with the Minister of Defense and Veterans, Jean-Pierre Bemba.

“The South African President has only one wish: to see soon, the East of the DRC regain lasting peace and that the whole of the DRC can regain peace, so that it can develop its population and the country,” Said Jeffe Radebe.

President Cyril Ramaphosa’s special envoy to the Great Lakes Region has noted that the need for peace is immediate. And his country, being a member of the SADC, decided to bring peace, through the peacekeeping force which is already on the ground in eastern DRC.
