On Monday, 16th November 20, DR Congo’s intelligence operatives attached to National Intelligence Agency (ANR) arrested renown Congolese Rumba songwriter and singer Tshala Muana.

Tshala Muana’s arrest comes after she released a song that illustrated accidental president Felix Tshisekedi as ingratitude, a song that DR Congo’s accidental president didn’t personally like.

However, Felix Tshisekedi’s regime have not publicly states the reason for her arrest by operatives from National Intelligence Agency (ANR).

Close relatives of the popular musician noted how agents from the National Intelligence Agency (ANR) took her away, saying she was wanted by superiors for questioning.

Her companion and producer, Claude Mashala, indicated that the artiste, 62, was “treated like a criminal, regardless of her state of health.”

According to him, the spies were unhappy with her latest song “ingratitude” that she recently launched. The song criticises President Felix Tshisekedi for being ungrateful to his ‘mentor’ and turning his back on him.

The name of the mentor is not revealed in the song, but it is perceived to be Joseph Kabila, the President’s predecessor who helped Tshisekedi form a government after arranging for a coalition. There have been wrangles within the coalition.

The singer is a public supporter of former President Joseph Kabila and his alliance the FCC (The Common Front for Congo, in French, Front commun pour le Congo)

In her song, DR Congo’s Rumba maestro Tshala Muana sings about a man who becomes successful after benefitting from his mentor.

All Congolese know the song is addressed to accidental president Felix Tshisekedi, who is currently at odds with Joseph Kabila’s FCC alliance.

As she was being arrested, the coward accidental president Felix Tshisekedi instructed the song to be banned in DR Congo. And her song has since been banned and local radio stations warned against playing it.

As I post this, Tshala Muana was today, 17th November 2020, released after backlash from Congolese who believe in freedom of speech and expression.

Below it’s the song titled “ingratitude” that led to accidental president Felix Tshisekedi to order for the arrest of singer and songwriter Tshala Muana. However the song is still in audio form, the images were compiled by a Congolese social activist.
