National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, Deputy President William Ruto and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi signed a coalition agreement at the Hermosa Gardens Hotel in Karen, Nairobi on April 9.
Months ago, Moses Kuria, a member of Parliament for Gatundu South, who was politically created by Uhuru Kenyatta during 2013 Kenyan elections and later re-elected in 2017 also jumped Kenyatta’s sinking ship and joined William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance. Moses Kuria is currently leading daily attacks against his former political father, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The departure of another close ally of President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi also left watchers of Kenya’s political chess game shocked.
Few months ago, Uhuru Kenyatta’s former sycophants Irungu Kang’ata and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru also jumped out of Uhuru Kenyatta’s drastically sinking ship and joined William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza alliance.
The battle for Mt Kenya region votes is fierce and protracted.
On national Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi joining William Ruto’s Alliance, Kenya Kwanza, a Kenyan friend noted, “Justin Muturi is a spent force around Mt Kenya region, he has taken to Ruto his vote and those of his family members.” Another Kenyan friend told me, “Justin Muturi has no followers or influence that is why Azimio la Umoja alliance refused to his demands. Let him join Ruto’s failing alliance. My brother, just watch the political chess game.”
Elections is about numbers, the hustler wants the highest office in Kenya and his strategically fishing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s allies.
Slowly by slowly, the hustler Commander is walking towards State House, Nairobi, as Kenya’s 5th President.
However, on 12th March 2022, during the signing of a coalition agreement binding 21 political parties under Raila Odinga – Uhuru Kenyatta’s Azimio la Umoja alliance, President Uhuru Kenyatta noted, “the next president of Kenya will be Raila Amolo Odinga.”
