On January 17, 1961, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) lost a beacon of hope and independence. Patrice Lumumba, the country’s first democratically elected Prime Minister, was kidnapped, tortured, and assassinated. His tragic demise marked the end of a brief era of autonomy and the beginning of decades of foreign interference (neo-colonialism) and internal strife characterised by coup d’états plots, rebellions, war crimes, crimes against humanity, diseases, and failures in state management. In Lumumba’s place, respective puppet regimes have been installed, serving the interests of external powers rather than those of the Congolese people.
The shadow of foreign manipulation loomed over the DR Congo for decades, culminating in a significant shift in 1997. Paul Kagame, a Ugandan Military Intelligence officer weighing just 57 kilograms, rose to being a kingpin of western interests in DR Congo. Though initially seen as a liberator by Congolese in 1997, Criminal Paul Kagame’s true legacy would soon become one of violence and industrial scale exploitation of DR Congo’s natural resources, a grim continuation of the external control established after Lumumba’s brutal execution.
Since 1996, Criminal Paul, with the backing and legal protection of powerful western allies, has orchestrated a campaign of brutality and plunder in the DRC. This 57-kilogram dictator has been responsible for the deaths of over 13 million Congolese, a genocide that remains one of the most egregious yet underreported atrocities of the late 20th and early 21st centuries. His satanic regime in Rwanda has systematically exploited the DR Congo’s vast mineral wealth, driving the country deeper into poverty and chaos while enriching himself and his western masters.
Kagame’s reign of terror has not only decimated DR Congo’s population but has also led to widespread environmental destruction and the displacement of millions. The DR Congo’s rich resources, including coltan, diamonds, and gold, are extracted on an industrial scale, with profits funneled away from the Congolese people and into the coffers of foreign entities and Kagame’s family.
Despite the overwhelming evidence of his crimes in DR Congo, Kagame has enjoyed a disturbing level of impunity. Western governments, driven by geopolitical interests and economic gain, have shielded him from accountability. This legal and diplomatic protection has allowed Criminal Paul Kagame to continue his devastating foreign policies unabated, perpetuating a cycle of violence and exploitation in the DR Congo.
The story of Patrice Lumumba’s assassination and the subsequent rise of Paul Kagame is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of foreign intervention and the complicity of global powers in the suffering of the Congolese people.
It is a call to the international community to reassess its role and responsibilities, to stop turning a blind eye to atrocities, and to support true democratic and human rights in the DR Congo.
