Today, Saturday 19th September 2020, Burundi President Evariste Ndayimishimiye made his first state visit to Tanzania.

President of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimye arrived in Tanzania’s port town of Kigoma in the morning and was received by President Dr. Pombe Magufuli.

President John Pombe Magufuli and his guest then headed to Lake Tanganyika stadium before inaugurating the Tanzania high court building Kigoma.

The two presidents exchanged gifts at Kigoma presidential palace and later held a private meeting without any official or protocol member of either country, it was only the two presidents in a room. After the private conversation, the two countries started an official talk that looked at trade, security and diplomacy.

After the meeting, President Evariste Ndayishimiye returned back to Burundi. This was President Everaste Ndayishimiye’s first official visit outside Burundi since his election in May of this year, 2020.

Without any single doubt, Kigali has been following this trip closely, and since 2013, the brotherly relationship between Burundi and Tanzania, especially that of the late President, Peter Nkurunziza and President Jakaya Kikwete became the root cause of criminal Paul Kagame starting to hate to the core President Peter Nkurunziza.

From 2012 to present, criminal Paul Kagame turned President Jakaya Kikwete an official enemy, and the crashing of Paul Kagame’s rebel militias of M23 in DR Congo by Tanzanian special forces was an additional catalyst.
